Women and girls empowerment
"Fostering Education And Confidence: Empowering Girls for brighter Tomorrow."
For over 22 years the Diar Foundation has put women and girls at the center of their focus because we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities. As more women are taking leadership positions in social, political, and business roles, it’s essential to examine the way in which these women impact cultural development and societal progression. in some cases, these women’s community leader’s impact goes beyond their communities and affects transformative cultural change globally.
HER VOICE, HER POWER
A youth-led initiative titled “Her Voice, Her Power” through the Diar Foundation. This project focuses on supporting displaced and returnee girls and young women from Sudan who have fled to South Sudan due to the ongoing war.
Many of these girls are currently living in refugee camps or resettled in border areas like Malakal and other states, where they face extreme hardship, limited access to education, and increased risks of gender-based violence.
This initiative creates:
-
Create safe, empowering spaces for mentorship and psychosocial support
-
Provide leadership, storytelling, and digital literacy workshops
-
Distribute personal hygiene kits and deliver health and hygiene education
-
Facilitate peer-led discussions on mental health, GBV, and education rights
In collaboration with local schools, youth volunteers, and community organizations, the project will host monthly gatherings reaching 30–50 girls per session. The goal is to help these young women heal, build resilience, and reclaim their voices as leaders and agents of change within their communities.
By amplifying their stories and strengthening their capacity, this project will contribute to long-term recovery and peacebuilding efforts in the region.
