South Sudan Will Never Starve Again

South Sudan Will Never Starve Again is Diar Foundation’s flagship food-security and community-development initiative. It responds to recurring hunger, climate shocks, displacement, weak production systems, and limited livelihood opportunities by strengthening local agriculture, farmer knowledge, productive assets, market participation, and community ownership. The initiative is designed around the principle that long-term food security requires communities to build their own capacity to produce, learn, organize, earn, and reinvest.

21 farms

In 2024–2025, Diar Foundation reported a network of 21 farms in South Sudan.

South Sudan remains central to Diar Foundation’s long-term food-security and community-development vision. Our network of 21 farms is being developed as more than a production platform: the farms are intended to serve as practical hubs for farmer learning, youth engagement, food security, enterprise, local production, and community resilience.

What we do

Build sustainable local food-production and livelihood systems that reduce hunger and strengthen self-reliance, especially for women, youth, and vulnerable households.

SOUTH SUDAN

Agriculture as a pathway to food security

South Sudan remains the center of Diar Foundation’s long-term agricultural and community-development vision. During 2024–2025, South Sudan Will Never Starve Again and the network of 21 farms provided the strongest place-based platform in the portfolio.

The farms are practical hubs for farmer learning, youth engagement, food security, enterprise, and community resilience. They are not only production sites.
